Pfister Shower Mount Replacement

The part I reversed engineered is a discontinued part made by Pfister. This project came about when I had a family member come to me with a plastic bag possessing fragmentations of what was a Pfister bracket. The part was responsible for holding the valve in place/ flush to the shower wall. So a replacement needed to be here sooner rather than later.

After looking everywhere online we could not find any replacement parts for sale. Event Pfister said the part was no longer in production. However, I did find enough documentation to at least show me what the part looked like.

Once I got some reference drawings I got out my micrometer and caliper to start measuring the remnants of the original part so I could model it on Autodesk Inventor and 3D print it using a Flash Forge Creator pro (I used PVA for the Supports and PLA for the actual print).

The entire modeling process took about 45 minutes and 3D printing took roughly 8 hours because I printed different sizes to assure a snug fit. The results of the model are shown below and it fit first try!
